Funshow ($13.00) — Rosehill Gardens Race 3
Two from two this prep — Funshow leads throughout again to win Race 3 at Rosehill Gardens.
TH.INTEL’s Performance Profile comes from Rosehill Gardens Race 3, where #4 Funshow produced an outstanding performance to salute at $13.00 — leading throughout the 1500m Kia Ora Bloodlines to Headlines Handicap for a 1.24-length win.
Funshow crossed the line with a Finishing Differential of 0, meaning it finished in exactly the position it led from — the signature of a genuine gate-to-line effort rather than one that needed to be nursed home. This is the second time running that profile has shown up: its last two starts this preparation have both been wins, both with an FD of 0, in successive grades (Super Maiden, then today’s step up to Provincial Class 1). Two clean wins in a row is the real story here — today’s result is confirmation of a horse building form on its own terms, not a one-off.
Its Last Run Velocity Rating of 7.28 sat 1.75 rating points below its Peak Velocity Rating of 9.03, recorded first-up this preparation. Funshow hasn’t yet had to find that top gear again to win — it has been doing it comfortably underneath its ceiling, which leaves something in reserve as it steps up in grade.
Funshow returned after 30 days, in line with its usual preparation pattern. Its Benchmark Performance Index of 86.51 — pulled up by a PI Current Prep of 86.67 across three runs this campaign — points to a horse holding form deep into its preparation rather than trending off it.
It wasn’t a soft field behind it, either. #7 Sponars came into the race off a win of its own last start and ran on for third. #3 Barking Mad, well-backed, claimed second. Funshow, leading and never headed, didn’t let the race get anywhere near it.
Funshow is trained by N.C. Doyle.
